Today’s featured law school is the University of Pennsylvania Law School. During the program you will hear from Renee Post, Associate Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, and Dave Williams, a recent Penn Law graduate.

The U.S. News & World Report currently ranks Penn Law as number 7 in its law school rankings. Penn Law Law currently has a full-time enrollment of 790 students; it costs a little over $46,000 for both in and out-of-state students. In 2009, the school received over 6,200 applications and had an acceptance percentage of approximately 14%. For the incoming class of 2012, the median LSAT score was 170 and the median GPA was 3.8.

Renee Post, Penn Law Associate Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, says that her school offers a great cross disciplinary for its students. She also says that students have the ability to learn the law curriculum from a variety of perspectives.

When it comes to choosing a law school, Dean Post suggests that students not overlook the right fit. She also suggests researching law schools and developing an understanding of the type of law program you would like to enter. Finally, Dean Post tells all students to visit the law schools they are interested in attending. She even explains how her law school sometimes offers travel subsidies for students coming to visit Penn Law.

Dave Williams, a recent graduate and student perspective for the University of Pennsylvania Law School, says that his favorite aspect of the program is the people in Penn Law. He says the student body and faculty/staff offer a very diverse arrangement of people to learn from. He also says that the student life aspect of Penn Law is exceptional to its students, noting that not only the student activities that are available to Penn Law students but the city of Philadelphia, as well.
